This study focuses on the renovation and architectural design of a traditional residence located in the Kourna area of Georgioupoli. Our goal was to highlight the local architectural style and adapt it to the modern needs of tourism.
Architecturally, special emphasis was placed on coherence and functionality between the two buildings. This was achieved through a complete reconfiguration of the surrounding environment, creating new pathways, level changes, and gardens.
The complex consists of two buildings. One is a stone-built maisonette of 120 square meters, featuring a spacious open-plan area and four bedrooms, and the other is a smaller supplementary building of 40 square meters with one bedroom. The interior design combines comfort and aesthetics, offering a unique living experience.
In the outdoor space between the two buildings, and reflecting traditional architectural aesthetics, the swimming pool area was designed. This space functions as an internal courtyard, thus connecting the two residences and creating a welcoming and ideal spot for relaxation.
The external area of the residence, which includes the pool and BBQ area, is a key element of the aesthetic and functionality of the property, highlighting several features reminiscent of earlier times. Natural materials, traditional details, and attention to detail create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The sea view of Georgioupoli, stretching in front, completes the overall impression and is one of the main features of the residence.
