  • Place: Gerani,Chania,Crete

This is the extension of the Silver Beach seaside hotel in the Gerani Municipality of Platanias in the Prefecture of Chania.

The design team aimed to create a calm and charming environment with a high sense of luxury.

Preserving Local Character

Respecting the natural landscape and preserving the uniqueness of the area and the existing buildings, we divided the plot, which is more than 12,000 m², into four sections.

The creation of a new central building of 960m² – between the two existing ones – to host all common areas, including the reception area, dining room, as well as wellness and entertainment areas, was the major factor of this expansion.

Preserving Local Character

The next two sections were studied for the development of the accommodation spaces. Two new two-storey buildings of 1410m² (28 rooms/88 beds) were designed in front of the sea, as well as a communal pool of 300 m².

The pool was placed in the centre of the plot so that it can be visible from almost all apartments and at the same time serve as a link between the new buildings, thus upgrading the overall aesthetic, too.

Preserving Local Character

The purposeful lines of the design and the carefully selected shades used in the interior of the room are more than just aesthetic choices.

Every aspect has been meticulously designed to ensure a cohesive and harmonious environment, from the placement of the buildings to the development of the gardens and the conscious choice of materials that complement the overall design concept.

Preserving Local Character

The idea behind this development comes from the desire to combine elegance and usability with respect for the natural landscape.

The last (4th) section concerns the forecast for the future expansion of the hotel with two more new buildings over 1500 square meters.

We combined the timeless beauty of the traditional with the modern style creating a truly enchanting result that not only respects the rich heritage of the past but also resonates with the elegance of the present.
